No matter what you do, Far Cry New Dawn will always remind you of Far Cry 5. A feeling that became all too present during my Far Cry New Dawn hands-on session. While I thoroughly enjoyed this, I have to admit that I missed the Far Cry 5 soundtrack dearly. In its stead, Far Cry New Dawn has a much more modern take on its soundtrack, along with punk and hip hop tracks. Gone are the days where you would drive down the main road, and be met with beautiful sounds of a cult choir on the radio. They have shut themselves out from the world, only to come out at night to harass the Highwaymen. With that said, it must be noted that the Father still exists and that both he and his massive group of cultists have taken over the starting island of Far Cry 5. Regardless, it is really beautiful and the new villains really do fit it perfectly. One that I assume is linked to the copious amounts of Bliss that grew in Hope County. How the world became more green and beautiful in just seventeen years is another story altogether. Instead, it is now a beautiful wasteland replete with lush fauna and flora. From the onset, it is clear that the world has moved on from the highly religious and cultist extravaganza that influenced the events of Far Cry 5. Naturally, we learnt quite a few things about the game that both supports the aforementioned theory and also throws it to the wayside.įar Cry New Dawn is quite the experience. With that said, we were recently invited by Megarom Interactive and Ubisoft for an exclusive Far Cry New Dawn hands-on session with the game. Whether that is the case or not, remains to be seen once the game is released.
So much so, in fact, that many on the internet believe that Far Cry New Dawn may have started out as an expansion to Far Cry 5. Instead of releasing it as such, many feel that Ubisoft made it a standalone product in order to seem like the game is a brand-new experience. One of the big controversies surrounding Far Cry New Dawn at the moment is that it both looks and feels exactly like Far Cry 5.
